Like two peas in a pod, kids and hideaways go together. Behind curtains or doors, under stairs or above closets, any small space that fits a mattress will work for kid’s room cubbyhole bed.
Add a shelf for books, reading light, and storage drawers and you have created a room out of a small space, perfect for the little people in your household. Cubbyhole beds make great extra beds for overnight guests too. Draw the curtains or shut the door for privacy….or create a space to let active imaginations take hold.
Which of these would be your favorite cubbyhole retreat?

Thanks for the questions! The photos show several different ways to use existing niches such as space under stairs, inside or on top of closets, and dormer window areas. One is actually built around the bed. Two others have walls built out using the ceiling slope as one wall.
